Commensalism is a type of ecological relationship, a bit south of parasitism, where one species benefits from another without affecting it. Remora fish and the larger animals they hitch rides on are commonly used as examples of commensalism, but, like most relationships, this one is probably a bit more complicated, with subtle effects on the host species.
